Social Tours

There is not any organized tour in the conference program. Below are just several sample options to give an overall picture of possible social and entertainment activities.

 

Walking Tour in Old City of Baku

The Old City is the beating heart of Baku and the best place to experience the strong local flavor. The Walking Tour will be taking the delegates through the Medieval City of Baku with its narrow streets, famous Maiden Tower, carpet and souvenir shops, local restaurants and cafés, museums and art galleries. It will include communication with local people, discovery of historical and cultural diversity of Azerbaijan and learning exciting, new facts about the country in an entertaining way.

 

Dinner at Icheri Sheher (Old City) Restaurants with Culinary Master classes

The Old City, historic core of Baku, is a hub of the most famous traditional restaurants in Baku.Designed as ancient caravanserais, these restaurants offer very deep authentic touch –from traditional musical and dance performances to delicious Azerbaijani food and characteristic architecture.

 

The delegates will taste famous Azerbaijani kebab and pilaf, tea and sweets, local wine and much more. Also, under the guidance of the restaurants` chefs, they will havea chance to try themselves in cooking some of traditional Azerbaijani dishes.Perfect open-air dinner will be accompanied by beautiful Azerbaijani music and local dance performances.

     

 

Excursion to the Ancient Rocks of Gobustan and mud volcanoes 

Gobustan Rock Art Cultural Landscape, an open-air museum, is one of the most famous sightseeing places of Azerbaijan.  Stated as ‘outstanding universal value’, Gobustan was included into the UNESCO World Heritage Sites List.

 

The site includes a collection of more than 6,000 rock engravings, the remains of inhabited caves and settlements, dated back from the Upper Paleolithic to the Middle Ages.

 

The visit will be combined with the brief tour around unique mud volcanoes. Azerbaijan is a home to more than a half of the world`s mud volcanoes, which are known as wonders of nature.

     

 

Relaxing day at the sea

Baku and its surroundings have always been popular among the tourists for their beautiful, sunny beaches lying along the waterfront of the Caspian Sea.

        

Perfect summer weather, turquoise waves of the Caspian Sea, pleasant breeze and high level of service quality - all together will bring the delegates an enjoyable, relaxing atmosphere after the last day`s conference.
